Creating a Park-Like Showroom That Feels Warm and Inviting

A Furniture-Quality Renovation Showroom Designed Like a Relaxing Park
|Sankyo Housing Co., Ltd.|

As the home renovation market grows, one persistent issue for housing manufacturers is their showrooms often lack personality—they’re simply functional spaces displaying fixtures without leaving lasting impressions. Sankyo Housing aimed to launch a new showroom dedicated to remodeling, where visitors could envision not just a home but an enhanced lifestyle. INCROCCE responded by designing a “park-style showroom” that brings the comfort of outdoor living indoors, creating an environment where clients feel both relaxed and inspired.

Property Details and Spatial Concept

The project transformed a former udon noodle restaurant into a welcoming remodeling showroom. Sankyo Housing’s goal was to offer a customer experience rooted in reality and comfort. INCROCCE’s spatial concept was “park”—a place that evokes the serenity of tree-shaded spaces and the blend of everyday and extraordinary. This park-like quality was then translated into spatial design, integrating warmth, openness, and the suggestion of a natural environment.

Interior Design Challenges

• Create an environment that goes beyond mere product display to evoke a sense of enriched living
• Provide a comfortable atmosphere conducive to sales consultations
• Work within the constraints of an existing restaurant layout
• Integrate multiple functions (café, consultation, display) into a cohesive space

Proposed Solution

Design inspired by the ambiance of a café:

  • Entrance & Counter Area: Designed as a café-like space. System kitchens are on display, yet guests feel as though they could enjoy coffee there.

  • Consultation Space: Features tables reminiscent of shaded park benches, with natural light and open settings.

  • Display Zone: Kitchen fixtures and materials are arranged to one side, balancing product presentation and customer flow.

  • Outdoor Wood Deck: Extends the interior living area outward, creating an additional “living space” naturally connected through large windows.

Implementation and Construction Details

• Materials: Warm, solid wood finishes throughout
• Interior flow: Display units like kitchen modules and shelves are staged to feel lived-in rather than gallery-like
• Exterior integration: Large openings lead to a modest wood deck; planting is minimal to let the wood textures stand out
• Overall aesthetic: Natural tones, soft lighting, approachable layout conveying familiarity and warmth

Results and Feedback

• Visitors commented that the space felt welcoming and encouraged longer stays—leading to increased consultation times
• Local architects and building material suppliers praised the showroom as a “pleasant park-like environment” and began referring clients
• The café-style layout and outdoor deck were especially well-received, prompting similar requests in subsequent projects
