Exhibition of Co-Creation and Empathy
A Circular Design–Driven Pop-Up at Fuchu’s Asahi Warehouse
|REKROW Exhibition Vol.2|

Brands tackling social issues are common—but few design spaces that truly transform empathy into co-creation. REKROW, a circular-economy brand that upcycles discarded workwear, needed its second exhibition to not only showcase products, but to foster a sense of co-creation, diversity, and future thinking. INCROCCE was challenged to transform an old warehouse into an immersive experience that expressed global and local creativity through spatial storytelling.

Project Concept & Objectives
This exhibition highlighted one year of REKROW’s achievements, featuring upcycled products co-created with nationwide partners. The spatial concept—“a place where diverse regenerations intersect and connect”—aimed to weave together materials, culture, and craft through upcycled fixtures and thoughtful circulation design.
Challenges in Spatial Design
The team needed to elevate recycled materials to their highest form, while preserving each partner’s individual design identity. The raw warehouse structure had to serve as a backdrop, enriched with new contextual meaning. Finally, the space needed to support multiple functions—exhibition, talks, workshops, and business meetings—in a cohesive layout.
INCROCCE’s Design Approach
We repurposed wooden pallets from the warehouse into exhibition fixtures—transforming them from mere support to narrative devices that carry the “memory of materials and relationships.” A clear, centrally-guided flow led visitors through three distinct zones:
REKROW’s core product line
Collaboration showcases (Spingle Move, Stephan Ken, TS Design, Snow Peak, etc.)
Meeting, talk, and workshop booths
These zones enabled visitors to experience the evolution of co-creation, from initial idea to final product.
Construction & Execution Details
Exhibition Fixtures: Dismantled pallet structures reconfigured into display platforms
VP Installation: Central presentation of signature upcycled items—coats, shoes, tarps
Spatial Styling: Leveraged soaring ceilings and exposed beams with suspended and fabric-based installations
Lighting: Low ambient lighting with targeted spot fixtures to guide attention and set rhythm
Outcome & Feedback
The exhibition received praise from both collaborators and visitors:
“I never imagined pallets could be so compelling.”
“This is the first time I’ve felt REKROW’s philosophy match so seamlessly with its spatial narrative.”
“The moment you enter the warehouse, the brand’s mission is instantly clear.”
Following the exhibit, REKROW gained momentum in expanding distribution, forming new partnerships with municipalities, and exploring international markets—marking a significant milestone in its journey as a socially responsible brand.
